🌍 Launch of a Gender-Smart MSME Support Training Considering Gender Aspects
👩💼 Women entrepreneurs often carry a double burden. Alongside running their businesses, they are responsible for 👶 childcare, 🏫 taking children to school and kindergarten, 🍽️ preparing household meals, and 🧓 caring for sick or elderly family members. This gender-specific context creates real challenges for women in sustaining and growing their businesses.
📉 These challenges weaken women’s economic independence and contribute to economic dependency, poverty, and power imbalances. Ultimately, they also increase women’s vulnerability to gender-based violence, as highlighted by the findings of JICA’s 📊 2024 Gender-Based Violence (GBV) study.
🤝 Based on these findings, the JICA Mongolia Office has been implementing a pilot project aimed at developing long-term strategic support to enhance women’s economic empowerment from 📆 Sep 2025 through Feb 2026.
📝 As part of the project, a study on the situation of women entrepreneurs was conducted in November 2025. Drawing on the study results and the identified needs of women entrepreneurs, a three-day training titled
🎓 “Gender-Responsive Support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)”is being organized in January 2026.
✨ This training is distinctive in that it applies a gender-based training module specifically designed to address the gender-related challenges, care responsibilities, and workload faced by women entrepreneurs.
