Bringing Education to the Most Remote Corners: Mobile Services for Ethnic Minority Children Who Dropped Out of School![]()
In a groundbreaking initiative, IRIM has launched the Mobile Center for Lifelong Education, a project that aims to provide critical educational services to the herding communities of Renchinlkhumbe Soum in Khuvsgul Province—one of the most remote and hard-to-reach areas of Mongolia. This "Ger School" will bring learning opportunities directly to around 100 children who have dropped out of school, children with disabilities, and herder families who continue their traditional livelihoods in Mongolia's mountainous and rugged terrain.
Renchinlkhumbe Soum is not only one of the coldest places in Mongolia, with winter temperatures plummeting to -50°C, but also home to the Darkhad, one of Mongolia’s ethnic minority groups. These remote families often face barriers to education due to their nomadic lifestyle, with more children becoming illiterate each year as they leave school to support animal husbandry.
Through the generous support of the Give2Asia donation network and the kindness of over 15 individual donors, this mobile education center is now a reality. It represents hope, opportunity, and a brighter future for a community that is geographically isolated but rich in natural and cultural heritage. ![]()
On behalf of Darkhad children, Our researchers extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has made this vision possible. Together, we are ensuring that no child—regardless of their location or circumstances—misses out on the power of education. ![]()
