✒️The “Business Development Advisory Services” aimed at supporting the development of Umnugovi province is being provided in its second year.

The joint team of MIRIM Consulting LLC and the Independent Research Institute of Mongolia (IRIM), funded by Oyu Tolgoi LLC, has commenced the second year of the “Business Development Advisory Services” project, which will be carried out in Khanbogd and its partner soums (Manlai, Bayan-Ovoo, and Dalanzadgad) from 2024 to 2026.

The goal of the advisory service is to diversify and develop the economy of Umnugovi province by strengthening the capacity of local stakeholders. This will focus on fostering changes and progress in four key non-mining sectors that are vital for the province's sustainable development, including:

📌The development of local SMEs and suppliers,

📌Supporting sustainable livelihoods, income diversification for herders, and the growth of local cooperatives,

📌Promoting local tourism,

📌Enhancing the agriculture and livestock sectors.

Each of these sectors is interlinked, and progress in one will support advancements in the others. In 2024, 12 planned activities were successfully completed. Looking ahead, 14 activities are set to be implemented in 2025-2026.
