A series of activities are undertaken from the Independent Authority against Corruption of Mongolia to reduce bureaucracy, ensure transparency and improve public sector ethics.  

In this regard, in 2008 IAAC started to render the public organizations to follow the united anticorruption plan developed by it, and make a selected research institute conduct independent evaluation on the their performance since. This activity plays a crucial role in encouraging initiatives of the organizations and officials and increase accessibility of the information.  

Description of actual services provided by your staff within the assignment: 

Approved by the director of the IAAC, the Evaluation methodologies, statement A/88 were used in the evaluation, which comprises a total of 19 criteria.  

As shown below, both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods were used. 

  • Questionnaire: Data collection were conducted from the officials from the public sector covering issues of "their directors' leadership and efforts made to organize activities against corruption" 

  • Website evaluation: Using the checklist, the organizations' performance of the activities against the corruption was evaluated against the criteria.  

  • Observation: As a part of the evaluation, observation was carried out in the Governor's office, in which the checklist was used.  

  • Key informant interview: 2 key informant interviews were conducted from each Governor's office.  

  • Desk review: Assessment was carried out on the reports of the anticorruption activities undertaken by the organizations.
