Brief information about the assignment:
The purpose of the project is to provide analytical support for NGO law. One of the main objective of this project is to advocate against restrictive changes to Mongolia’s NGO law and provide positive, civic-society-enabling amendments through research and analytical support to the working groups responsible for drafting the state policy on civil society development and revisions of the 1997 NGO Law. Also, it aims to raise public awareness about the benefits civil society provides citizens and the need for a free and open civic space by providing research-based Public Briefers to be sued in public campaigns.
Description of actual services provided by your staff within the assignment:

Participated in various government-civil society meetings and discussions as a research organization representative.

In relation to the parallel lawmaking in the Law on NGO, the project team developed “Concept of Law on Non-Government Organizations” and “Needs assessment on the Law on Non-Profit Organizations”.

Developed Public Briefers on two topics for the public and civil society organizations.
