Wildlife trade is a fourth-largest business in the world. As a result of this wildlife population have declined substantially, the world's terrestrial animals by 39%, aquatic animals by 29% and freshwater animals by 76%. What is the situation in Mongolia?

One of the few wildlife illegal hunting and trade-related projects is the “Silent Steppe I, II" projects implemented by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). The IRIM Research Institute, in collaboration with ZSL, has been implementing the research "The Illegal Wildlife Trade in Mongolia" for the second year since 2016. The study examines issues such as the volume of the products sold in the market, the implementation of environmental legislation in Mongolia, and public support on environmental and wildlife conservation.
