The Independent Research Institute of Mongolia (IRIM) in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia has started implementing 'National Program on Combating Illegal Circulation of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances: research, training and raising public awareness consulting service' since October 2018.

The objectives of this assignment are as follows:

  • To determine potential alternatives for implementation of the law in an appropriate and effective way; to conduct analysis on law and legal regulation implementation; to identify problems, legal gaps and overlaps, advantages and disadvantages, and to conduct impact analysis on society;
  • To conduct evaluation of ''National Program on Combating Illegal Circulation of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances';
  • To provide suggestions and recommendations for developing appropriate ways to prevent such crimes and violations.

Within the assignment framework, the project team will conduct analysis on relevant documents and gather information and data from professional organizations, NGOs and the public in Ulaanbaatar, using the quantitative and qualitative research methods. Currently we are in preparation stage, developing survey tools, pre-testing the tools for data collection and preparing for the fieldwork
