The IRIM team, board member A.Dolgion and project manager Ts.Odonchimeg, have successfully provided national consultancy service on “The development of a standard instrument for Country Portfolio Review (CPR) on German Development Cooperation (GDC): A case study in Mongolia” which has been implemented by DEval (The German Institute for Development Evaluation).

The Country Portfolio Review in Mongolia will not only inform the strategic orientation of GDC in Mongolia but also, moreover, be a crucial exercise for the further development of a standardized CPR-instrument.  The IRIM team supported the DEval review team to capture the local political and economic situation by providing political analysis and briefing of different sectoral situations.

DEval Institute is mandated to evaluate the performance of German development cooperation interventions and to provide evidence-based evaluations. The Institute supports the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in enhancing its development cooperation policy making in order to, ultimately, increase the effectiveness and impact of development interventions by Germany’s implementing organisations and NGOs.

The first analysis of CPR in Mongolia is presented to relevant stakeholders in Germany by the DEval team. After further analysis of CPR in Mongolia and the finalization of standard instrument for CPR, the DEval team will publish the report in 2019.

IRIM specializes in monitoring and evaluation of development programs and is an active member of the Asia-Pacific Evaluation Association.
